XeeSM is here – management of your social media presence doesn’t get better than this

Posted on 16 August 2009 by Arup Deb

Social Media is proliferating, and is proliferating much wider & faster. Faster than may be several other things that we encounter in everyday life, and wider than our imagination, but then with this has come a unique problem of managing your social web presence. If you have just your Facebook or Twitter to manage, then it is certainly not a problem, but that is surely not the case. Today, a vast majority of the individuals and organizations have sort of a compulsion to be online, through a variety of platforms. Entities in general, have got a larger presence and it may become difficult for them to remember the various social sites, blogs, groups that they may be part of or for that matter announce it to the world.

Take for instance, I would need Facebook probably to socialise at a peer level; Twitter to write some of my views on personal interests that could be anything like technology, sales management, marketing, which I probably would not be able to do through my blog, purely due to lack of time. But then once in a while, I would also need to write in greater detail through my blog; and then due to professional reasons, I do also need to be active on my Xing and LinkedIn accounts and so on. So what do you do in a scenario like this? May be create a spreadsheet with all the information pertaining to the various platforms that you are present on, but then that would be purely for your self consumption and in a way you are able to overcome the problem of remembering, which all sites you have a presence. That certainly does not help your friends, acquaintances or your customers to find you online, pretty much easily.

XeeSM an intuitive social network management tool, seems to have come up as a significant solution to the problem of managing one’s web presence. It helps in mainly two ways. One, it helps you manage and remember all your social sites, blogs, networks, groups… in one place, and two, makes you more approachable, by helping your friends and customers to easily find you on all the places you are, like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, MySpace, Youtube etc. I have been using this tool for a few weeks now and find it pretty interesting and manageable. With just a simple link, like http://xeesm.com/Arupdeb/ I am able to direct my acquaitances to my web properties, with much ease.

I am loving XeeSM very much and quite sure that the world certainly needs a tool like this, to manage their ever growing presence on the web.

Check out the all-new Skype for Windows – It is really cool

Posted on 14 February 2009 by Arup Deb

Found the new Skype 4.0 for Windows pretty interesting. The sound quality in the new Skype is amazingly clear & crisp; and, just in case some issues do crop up, the “Smart Help” would fix up for you, right during the call. Video calls come out pretty lively by virtue of its bigger screen form factor.

You have the choice of picking up and switching between conversations, either on one common screen or separate ones.

The new bigger buttons make it real easy to locate them. Searching for and locating other users is a breeze.

Whichever way you see, the new Skype is a lot better than what it used to be. The above screen-shot, is quite an indication as to how awesome the new Skype could be. I have just downloaded it and liking very much.

Google image search made easier

Posted on 31 December 2008 by Arup Deb

Google has just recently made searching for clip art and line drawings much easier. This is yet another step towards making Google the best choice among search engines for all times. Some time back, Google incorporated photo search under the image search feature and prior to that they had introduced the face search feature. The new clip art & line drawings features would definitely be a good news for all those, who regularly search the web for images for personal and other reasons, as with the highly defined search parameters, the job will get easier. The idea behind the different image search features, is to eliminate all other images in the search result that do not fall in the searched category. Those, who are yet to experience the new features, must check out the same. It is really cool. See the Google screenshot down below; different image search options are available in a drop down.
